Brief Summary
As a Quotation Engineer within our Product Management team, you'll spearhead the seamless generation of quotations for optical components. Collaborating closely with our engineering department, you'll take charge of sourcing sub-component parts from third-party vendors, ensuring precise and consistent quotes for our sales teams.
Job Description
- Receive and process RFQ requests from the sales team, entering them into our system and tracking progress using designated trackers.
- Create comprehensive RFQ worksheets, including detailed drawings and specifications, and distribute them to relevant engineering personnel for assessment.
- Coordinate with the engineering, planning, purchasing and quality team to gather inputs on material cost, process cycle times, yields, tooling and manufacturing feasibility. Ensuring RFQs are accurate and complete before submission back to the sales team.
- Conduct thorough analysis and review of high-value quotes with the management team, providing insights and recommendations as necessary.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the sales team through effective communication, timely quotation support, and close coordination to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
- Maintain and enhance quotation databases, costing models, Power BI dashboards, and KPI tracking reports.
- Support automation, digitalisation, and data structure improvement initiatives to improve quotation efficiency and data accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
- Participate in cost reduction, productivity improvement, and process optimization initiatives.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the management team to support the overall goals and objectives of the Product Management department.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 2 years of experience in quotations.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office required.
- Experience with business intelligence tools, such as Power BI and SAP, and knowledge in optics is advantageous.
